Corum Yellow Gold 5-Dollar Coin Watch
In the 1970/80’s many brands had a very troublesome time in the industry due to the popularity in quartz watches or known as the ‘quartz crisis’. To stand out from the crowd we saw many one off creations and amazing freedom in designs which is why here at DVW we love this period of watch making with it again growing in popularity today.
Corum thought outside the box and created a hybrid of investment gold and watches… The coin variants were mainly produced in 22ct American bullion with either 5, 10 & 20 dollar sizes and some special edition types for other counties can be seen. Many were made in quartz, fewer in manual wind, very rare automatic and some with an expensive added option of 18ct bracelets…
Here we have an original sapphire crown, 5 dollar investment coin, 18ct case & 18ct signed buckle.
